"Markers of the Past" was accepted for the 2008 Oil Painters of America national show in Missoula, MT. The painting was based on scenes in Tunbridge, Vermont and was made to reflect the artist's feelings as to how that state had changed. Jim and his wife Kate are pictured at the show.

"Early Morning on the NorthFok" goes on the block at the 2014 Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction in Rist Canyon, CO. It benefits the Volunteer Fire Fighters there and provides a significant part of the funding. It was purchased for another fireman who fought wildfires in this same area. How very fitting this was

"Cold and Clear" was awarded first prize at an annual show in the Caboose Gallery in Red Lodge, Montana

"Big Horn Lake Sunset" was one of seven paintings to receive a Purchase Award, adding it to the Wyoming State Museum's collection of paintings. Many of these may enrich the public areas or executive offices of government facilities in Cheyenne.

Other shows, exhibitions and auctions where Jim's art appeared include: 2009 and 2010 shows at the Bennington Center of the Arts; 2010 C.M. Russel Art Auction; 2009, 2010, 2012, and the 2014 Richard Schmid Fine Art Auctions. He has received awards from shows in Colorado, Montana and Wyoming. In 2015 he had a solo show at Northwest College's SinClair Gallery in Powell, WY.
